Exploring this old abandoned fortress near Setubal, Portugal. Never quite knowing what will be found as you climb the stairs or enter a room in complete darkness with nothing but a flashlight to see what's around you. A little creepy at times but a place well worth exploring.

Fairground At Stourport

The old fairground at Stourport reminded me of my younger days when I visited Southport and Blackpool fairgrounds in the Northwest of England. These types of entertainment do seem outdated compared to modern theme parks but what they offer is good old fashioned simple entertainment and a sense of nostalgia.

Walking past this humming, buzzing and crackling electrical distribution plant always makes me wonder how so much energy is safely controlled.

RNLI Lifeguard On Duty At Crosby Beach

Lifeguards are frequently positioned at this location monitoring the area. I'm not sure whether this is for potential bathers getting into difficulty swimming or the risk of people getting stuck in the deep mud and soft sand as the tide comes in. Having grown up in this area and regularly seeing some of the stuff that gets washed up on the beach when walking my dog I certainly wouldn't want to swim in the water.

The Obelisk, Tring Park

Also known as Nell Gwynn's Monument, the Obelisk is located at a junction of pathways not far from the Summerhouse in a wooded area of Tring Park in Hertfordshire. The area has a rich history and has plenty of stunning walks and is classed as an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Tring Park is managed and maintained by The Woodland Trust, a charitable organisation engaged in conservation across the UK.
